LINCOLN, NE - For the second consecutive game to start the season, the Iowa women's soccer team fell by the score of 3-0 as Nebraska silenced the Hawkeyes Sunday night at the Abbott Sports Complex.

The Huskers jumped on the board early as Kari Hogan slipped the game's first goal past Iowa junior goalkeeper Britta Vogele just 4:15 into the contest. Teammate Jenna Cooper collected her first of two assists on the goal.

Nebraska (2-0) tallied its second goal just 1:37 later as Ashley Tenn finished after receiving a pass from Ashley Carter. Cooper assisted Jessie Bruch's goal at the 72:16 mark of the second half to help preserve Nebraska's victory.

The Huskers out-shot the Hawkeyes 11-8 and recorded 14 corner kicks to Iowa's one. Vogele had another busy game in the net as the native of Newport Beach, CA, stopped 11 shots in the loss. Freshman Lindsay Phillips (Rockford, IL) led the Hawkeyes with three shots on goal, while freshman Julie Hickman (Littleton, CO) registered two shots on net.

Iowa (0-2) returns to action when it competes in the Creighton Bluejay Classic, Sept. 5-7 in Omaha, NE. The Hawkeyes open the tournament against Drake on Sept. 5 and then finish with Creighton on Sept. 7.
