Hawkeyes Defeated By No. 6 Vanderbilt

The Iowa women's tennis team dropped all matches to No. 6 Vanderbilt on Sunday afternoon at the Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Center. The Hawkeyes are now 4-2 in dual meets. In doubles, Meg Racette and Hillary Mintz lost a close match, 9-7, to the 28th-ranked duo of Audra Falk and Annie Menees. Chelsea Glynn and Anastasia Zhukova fared no better at the No. 2 spot, losing 8-6. In singles, the Hawkeyes went up against four ranked opponents. Racette took 39th-rated Falk to three sets at the No. 1 spot, but lost 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8). At the No. 2 spot, Mintz was defeated by 94th-ranked Kelly Schmandt, 6-1, 6-4. Glynn was unable to take a set against No. 66 Amanda Fish (6-2, 6-0). Vanderbilt's 77th-ranked Ashley Schellhas defeated Zhukova at No. 4, 6-2, 7-6 (6). The Hawkeyes will compete next against Minnesota Saturday, February 28.
