Hawkeyes Win Three
April 10, 2004
Columbia, MO - The University of Iowa women's track and field team won three events during the second day of competition despite adverse weather conditions at the Tom Botts Invitational in Columbia, MO, Saturday. The pole vault and 1,600-meter relay were canceled due to rain, wind and cold temperatures. The Hawkeyes also recorded five collegiate-best performances on the day. Senior Michelle Lahann led the team with a win in the 800 meters, running a 2:10.30 that was .01 off the regional qualifying mark. Senior Kyndra Middleton also won the 200 meters with a collegiate-best 26.63. Iowa's 400-meter relay won the Hawkeyes' third event title on the day in 47.64. Iowa will split its athletes between two meets next weekend, sending some competitors to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, CA, Apr. 15-18, and sending the rest of the squad to the UNI Twilight Meet in Cedar Falls, IA, Apr. 17.
